Shadow Teacher Program
At Bridge, our Shadow Teacher Program is clinically supervised and individually tailored to each child’s needs. We work closely with families and schools to ensure consistent implementation of evidence-based strategies while promoting meaningful participation, academic success, and social inclusion. Our ultimate goal is to help every child become as independent as possible, gradually reducing support as skills develop and confidence grows.
Signs Your Child May Benefit from a Shadow Teacher
- ✓ Require one-to-one support in the classroom.
- ✓ Have difficulty following classroom routines or instructions.
- ✓ Need support with attention, behavior, or transitions at school.
- ✓ Experience challenges with peer interaction or classroom participation.
- ✓ Require assistance to increase independence in the school environment.
Individualized School Support for Successful Inclusion
At Bridge for Skills Development Centre, our Shadow Teacher Program provides individualized, one-to-one support to help children successfully participate in educational settings while promoting independence, confidence, and meaningful inclusion. Working collaboratively with families, teachers, and school teams, our trained shadow teachers implement individualized strategies that support academic engagement, social participation, communication, and positive behavior within the classroom. Our approach focuses on gradually reducing support as the child develops the skills needed to function more independently, ensuring that the shadow teacher serves as a bridge to independence rather than a long-term dependency.
Who Can Benefit?
Our Shadow Teacher Program is designed for children who require individualized support within educational settings, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Developmental Delays, Social and Communication Challenges, Behavioral Support Needs, Learning and School Participation Difficulties, and children transitioning to inclusive educational settings.
